In this podcast and blog you will see a lot of references to materials found in other publications, websites, etc. That is OK. I am not trying to be the original source of information. I am just here to gather it up all in one place and present it for you to use.

A lot of this information is directly targeted for veterans and service members who are planning to leave military service. However, that does not mean a lot of this information is not useful for everyone. A lot of people need to know how to write a resume or apply for a Pell Grant. What I am saying is thisâeven though this is a podcast about veteran and military issues, the information is not exclusive and please feel free to take what you can and use it to make your life better.

Now, where are some of my sources? Of course, I get a LOT of my sources from the Veterans Administration and government websites. Another large portion comes from the news and reliable sources.

A great source of information for veterans looking for work is G.I. Jobs Magazine which was started by great friends and savvy Vetrepeneurs (veteran entrepreneur) Chris Hale and Rich McCormick. They are also the producers of the Veterans Business Journal, Military Spouse Magazine and run NaVOBA (the National Veteran-Owned Business Association). If you havenât seen the magazine, you are really missing out on some fantastic information and a fantastic resource of post-military opportunities.

What can you expect from the podcast? It will be a potpourri of experiences: sometimes just news on military life, opportunities for the entrepreneurial, how to navigate the veteransâ affairs system, how to find a job, and how to keep one. I am hopeful that we will get some great interviews with key people that will provide the information that will help make veteran life richer for those who have served.

Being a volunteer project, the plan is to do this podcast monthly and slowly increase the frequency of podcasts as the audience grows and there is increased efficiency through process improvement of workflow in the production of the show.

The first podcast will be an introduction of me, the Podcast Patriot, and a quick discussion of functional resumes.
